Make Travel Your Teacher
The World Has Lessons for the Heart, If You’re Willing to Wander

Curiosity, Connection, and Creativity
Some of the most meaningful things in life can’t be learned in a classroom. They’re felt under foreign skies, along quiet desert trails, beside unfamiliar flavors and faces, and deep within stories that speak straight to the soul. For Heidi, travel has never been about collecting passport stamps. It’s about curiosity, connection, and the creativity that only awakens when you step outside your world and into someone else’s.
“I used to think I’d already seen so much,” Heidi says. “But the world keeps getting bigger for me. There’s still so much left to discover.” She’s right. Whether it’s a weekend road trip through New England or a ten-day trek through the Alps, travel reminds us that inspiration is everywhere. For someone like Heidi, whose jewelry reflects the textures, colors, and romance of the world around her, every destination leaves a lasting mark. From the soft pastel cafés of Paris to the rich, rust-red cliffs of Sedona, many of Heidi’s most iconic collections have their roots in a place she once wandered.

A Family Story Written Across Continents
Heidi’s love for travel didn’t start with her—it was passed down like a treasure. As a little girl, she would sit wide-eyed, flipping through black-and-white photographs of her grandmother riding a camel in Egypt, listening to tales of ancient wonders and faraway adventures. It all felt like magic.

Years later, Heidi found herself in Morocco, riding her own camel through the desert, her sons by her side. In that moment, surrounded by the warm winds and golden sand, she felt something more than joy. She felt a connection between generations, between worlds, between the stories we inherit and the ones we live for ourselves.
That unforgettable trip sparked a wave of creative energy. The colors, the craftsmanship, and the spirit of Morocco all found their way into her sketchbook. Most notably, it inspired her beloved camel-themed pieces, including a charming pin and a full suite of matching designs that transformed travel memories into wearable magic.

Paris Will Always Have Her Heart

Ask Heidi about her favorite place on Earth and you’ll see her face soften with a dreamy smile. Paris. France, really. All of it. “Everywhere you look is sheer beauty,” she says, remembering a recent trip with her sister. “I must have sent Karen fifty photos within an hour. Storefronts, gardens, museums, architecture—it’s just a feast for the eyes.”

That sense of wonder is woven into so many of her collections, especially those with that signature Parisian flair. Romantic, refined, but never without a wink. Paris isn’t just a city—it’s a mood, a memory, a muse.
America the Beautiful, Still Unfolding
But Heidi’s love for discovery doesn’t end across the ocean. “There’s so much wonder in our own backyard,” she says. “The Rockies, the Red Rocks, Maine’s mountain-meets-ocean magic. Even Florida, where I’ve lived for years, still surprises me.” For Heidi, it’s never been about the distance. It’s about the feeling. That spark of newness. That moment of stillness. That flash of beauty that demands to be remembered, then reimagined in metal and stone.
The Tour du Mont Blanc, A Chapter of Courage
This summer, Heidi is embarking on her most challenging journey yet—the legendary Tour du Mont Blanc. It’s a 106-mile trek around the Alps, winding through France, Italy, and Switzerland. The path is wild and breathtaking, dotted with flowers, steep cliffs, cozy alpine huts, and the occasional metal ladder bolted into a rock face.

“It’s not going to be a walk in the park,” she laughs. “But it means the world to me.” She’s training hard, not just to complete the hike, but to honor every step of the way. “With every crazy thing I do, I get inspired,” she says. “I already see the jewels forming in my mind.”
Let Travel Teach You, Too
Whether you’re off to Paris or just wandering through your hometown, let travel teach you something.
Let it surprise you, open you, soften you. Let it connect you to the people who came before you, and the stories still waiting to be written.
And always, always bring your sparkle. Heidi certainly will.
Wherever you wander, wear your wonder.
Let the world in, and watch what comes out of you.
