What July Is Teaching Me

Dear Sparkling Friends,

As I prepare to take on one of the most physically and mentally demanding adventures of my life, an expedition to the summit of Mont Blanc, I find myself in a deeply reflective place. Every day of training has been a reminder that our greatest growth often comes from our greatest challenges. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. And just knowing that I carry the strength, support, and spirit of this incredible community with me… well, that gives me courage I didn’t know I had.

You’ve always heard me say: we don’t just make jewelry, we create stories, memories, and moments. And sometimes, those moments remind me just how powerful this sisterhood truly is.

Not long ago, I was deeply moved by a message from one of our beloved Heidi Girls, Phyllis. In the midst of tidying and organizing, she accidentally threw away two of her favorite Heidi Daus necklaces. Can you imagine that sinking feeling? That sense of loss? But then something remarkable happened. Another Heidi Girl, whom Phyllis had never even met, read her story, and sent her one of the very same pieces she had lost.

I cried when I heard this. Not because it was about jewelry, but because of what it represented. Kindness. Generosity. Shared beauty. Sisterhood. This is who we are. There are angels all around us, and sometimes, they’re dressed in sparkles and answer to the name “Heidi Girl.”

We live in a world that can feel heavy at times, but you remind me daily that light, grace, and connection are still very much alive. You show me that what we put out into the universe, kindness, compassion, joy, always finds a way to return to us. Often in the most unexpected and beautiful ways.

Speaking of inspiration, there’s something special happening right here in the Heidi Daus office that I want to share with you. Karen, our beloved customer service superstar, and I mean superstar in every sense of the word has partnered with me on a little personal challenge: 10 miles a day. Every day, we check in with each other, push each other, and celebrate every step forward. Some days we power through. Other days, we lean on each other. But every day, we show up. Karen isn’t just answering your emails or helping with orders, she is the heart of our team. Her dedication, encouragement, and friendship have fueled me in ways I didn’t even expect.

And it’s a powerful reminder: we all need people who challenge us, support us, and believe in us. Whether it's your best friend, your sister, your co-worker, or someone in the Heidi Daus Facebook group, you are never walking alone.

As we approach the 4th of July, I hope you’ll take a moment to be still and reflect—not just on freedom in a historical sense, but on what it means for you, personally. For some, it’s the joy of family around the table. For others, it’s the courage to walk your own path. This holiday means different things to different people, but at its core, it reminds us to be present, to appreciate the gift of today, and to hold space for the dreams that still lie ahead.

July is rich with meaning, both in the world and in our hearts. It calls us to be brave. To reignite the fire of a goal we set back in January. To lean into the abundance that nature offers, and see it mirrored in our own lives, abundance of love, of second chances, of hope. Let the energy of this fiery month move you forward.

Let it remind you that adversity doesn’t weaken you, it forges you. That the warmth of the sun, the lushness of the season, and the glow of your favorite statement necklace can all serve the same purpose: to help you stand tall and shine.

I will carry these stories, of Phyllis, of Karen, of every one of you, with me up that mountain. And when I reach the summit, I’ll be lifting my heart in gratitude. Not just for the view, but for the journey. And for the extraordinary, shimmering community that made it possible.

With all my love and deepest sparkle,
Heidi

P.S. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to restart a goal, reach out to someone, or simply be a little kinder to yourself, this is it.
You are more powerful than you know, and the world needs your light.
